Membership
Membership of the New Forest Beekeepers'
Association is open to anyone in the New Forest area of Hampshire,
UK who keeps bees or who wishes to learn the craft of
beekeeping. Please contact our Membership Secretary for
more details. Membership provides a wide range
of benefits:
Meetings and Events
Regular apiary visits are held
during the season, where practical beekeeping skills are demonstrated
and explained, inevitably followed by an excellent bee
tea! Regular meetings of the Association take
place at Lyndhurst Community Centre where talks
on a wide range of beekeeping topics, and various social events,
are held each year. Practical and theoretical preparation for beekeeping
examinations is also provided.
Public Liability &
Bee Disease Insurance
Registered or Partner membership of the Association
incorporates affiliated membership of the British Beekeepers' Association
which includes public and product liability insurance cover. An
insurance premium for cover against against losses of up to three
colonies of bees due to notifiable diseases through Bee Disease
Insurance is also included in the membership package.
Additional colonies may be covered at extra cost
Beekeeping
equipment
Discounted prices for a range of
beekeeping equipment and supplies is available for members from selected
suppliers. Surplus and secondhand equipment is
also regularly offered for sale, exchange or
disposal.
Publications and Information
Membership includes
the supply of quarterly editions of the Association 'bNews' newsletter,
'Bee Talk' from Hampshire Beekeepers' Association, and monthly 'Bee
News' magazine published by the British Beekeepers' Association.
Occasional email messages
are also circulated to members wanting to have the most up to date
information. |
